Privacy Policy

VolleyIQ ("we") is a volleyball match video analysis app built and operated by the VolleyIQ team. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the VolleyIQ app and related services, how we use it, and how you can manage or delete it.

Effective October 20, 2026

Data we collect

Account data

  • Apple user identifier: provided by Apple when you use Sign in with Apple, used to recognize your account.
  • Email address: the email Apple provides. If you choose Hide My Email, we only receive Apple's private relay address.
  • Name: only if you choose to share it the first time you sign in. You can edit it or leave it out on Apple's consent screen.

Content you upload and create

  • Match videos you upload, and their details such as title, recording date and camera angle.
  • Analysis results: where each rally starts and ends, actions such as serves, receptions, sets, attacks and blocks, and points won or lost.
  • Folders, player rosters (the names and jersey numbers you enter), favorite categories, tags, and corrections you make to the analysis.
  • Share links you create.

Usage records

  • How many analyses you submit each month, to apply the free monthly limit.
  • Standard technical logs created when our servers handle requests (such as IP address and request time), processed by our hosting provider in its standard way to keep the service running and secure.

We do not use advertising or tracking tools, we do not sell your data, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

02

How we use data

  • To analyze your videos: on our servers we detect the ball and players, split the match into rallies and recognize actions. To attribute actions, the analysis groups appearances of the same player within a video by how they look; you confirm who each player is and enter names and jersey numbers yourself. This is not facial recognition and is never used to determine who a person is.
  • To sync your library across devices signed in to the same account.
  • To support you and improve quality: authorized team members may view your videos, analysis results and corrections to handle support requests, fix analysis errors and improve analysis accuracy (including improving our analysis models).
  • To operate the service: applying the free monthly limit, preventing abuse and keeping the system secure.
03

Sharing

You can create a share link for a match or for selected rallies. Anyone who has the link can view that content's video and clips; shared content is never listed publicly or searchable. Signed-in recipients can add it to their own library. It is not a copy: they see your match itself, including later analysis results and corrections, and a link you create for editing also lets them correct it with you. You can revoke a share link in the app at any time; after that, recipients can no longer open it or receive updates through it.

04

Who we share data with

We share only what is needed with the providers that help us run the service:

  • Apple, for Sign in with Apple.
  • Cloudflare, for API hosting, database and video storage.

Video analysis runs on servers we operate ourselves in Taiwan. Apart from the above, or where the law requires it, we do not disclose your personal data to third parties.

05

Retention and deletion

  • We keep your data until you delete it.
  • Deleting a match removes it from your library immediately; its video files are removed from storage in a later periodic cleanup.
  • Deleting your account: go to Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app. We revoke the app's Sign in with Apple authorization and immediately delete your account, matches, analysis results, labels and video files, including the matches you shared: people who added them to their library through your share links lose access to them too.
  • Database backups are kept for up to 30 days, after which deleted data is permanently removed.
06

Your rights

You can view, edit and delete your content in the app, and delete your account at any time. To get a copy of the data we hold about you, correct it, or make any other privacy request, email us.

07

Children

VolleyIQ is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

08

Other people in your videos

Your videos may show other players and spectators, and your rosters may contain other people's names. Make sure you have the right to upload and share this content, and obtain consent from the people involved before sharing it.

09

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will announce significant changes in the app or on this page and update the effective date above.
